Adam has a fond childhood memory of making honey taffy.....and he wanted to do it for family home evening. I'm not going to lie....I was skeptical. It seemed like entirely too much work to me, but Adam was a believer and he got all the stuff together. He even bought himself a candy thermometer. ( I know, I know - I didn't have one!!)
I have to say I was pretty impressed. He was cooking while looking at the recipe on his ipod!
Oh the modern man!
He had a celebrity guest helping him......
Batman shows up at our house frequently!!
Vance's favorite part was buttering his hands so that he could stretch the taffy.Vance loves butter!!! If I don't put it away fast enough, anytime I am cooking, I find little finger marks in it! After I took this picture, he licked a big tablespoon up off the table. Nice!
I only helped wrapped the taffy at the end - and it was sooooo good!
I'm am no longer a skeptic and can't wait until we do it again.

Send some our way, won't ya? As a child I loved butter too, so watch out! :) But I turned out ok, right? I agree with Emily, Porter's pictures are so cute! Do I see a hint of red in his eyebrows?
You didn't have a candy thermometer?! I thought that was a common household item...like a frying pan. Oh, wait...I don't have one either. The candy looks delish. And if Batman ever wants to make a guest appearance at my house, I would LOVE to have him.
