Visitors!

Last week Jared, Chelsea, and Daniel came to visit us! It was a short visit but packed with fun.
Chelsea and Jared came with gifts for the boys. Cute UW apparel and Chelsea made this adorable blanket for Vance. She made one for Porter when he was born too! The boys were super excited to see their Aunts and Uncles!

It was Jared's birthday while they were here so we did a little partying.
You know I love a good party!

Got an awesome blizzard cake from the DQ.
(notice the sweet bandanna - we wanted him to fit-in in the ND)

Opened some presents - thanks to Aunt Sarah for some serious reading!

And went out for a sweet dinner in a different state and time-zone.
It only took us 30 mins of driving to accomplish both! We also discovered the GEM of a dollar store in Williston where we found Dracula teeth!

coco and mallows

(Not our actually coco mallows but aren't these cute!)

My mother-in-law gave me the gift that kept on giving for Mothers Day last year. It was a subscription to Taste of Home magazine. Vance loves looking at it every couple of months and trying the kid recipes. It has lots of fun ideas - but this particular recipe really caught his attention. I didn't get a picture of the end result - we ate them too fast - but I documented his hard work. He go to do most of the preparation which made him really happy.
We melted a bag of chocolate chips in the microwave, put the mallows on sticks and dipped them in the chocolate. Then rolled them in sprinkles and put them in the fridge to cool for a bit. They were pretty good - pretty sweet - but pretty good. He talked about it for a week!!!
Anyway - we thought we would share that part of our treat time with you.

AND here is a picture of Porter. I feel like I can't post about one child and not add the other! Porter was sleeping through the coco and mallow party - but when he's old enough we will let him in on the secret!
